I believe it is possible. I have seen some people have a post signature that states your IP address. If you were to include in your signature a reference to a host that recorded the IP address of visitors you would know all the visitors viewing your posts.
ie.
1) find a free hosting service that allows you to view the statistics of visitors to your site
2) host an image
3a) lure the poster to view this image through private messaging
3b) insert this image in your signature to see all people viewing your posts
It would be less than surprising if someone harassing you on the internet is hiding their original IP
Thats logged with the website and only admins can see it
