Abstinence-only sex-ed has completely failed, as shown by this study. Isn’t it time to wake up and smell reality?

I agree 100%. We need to teach abstinence is a good way to avoid problems but if it is something that doesn’t happen, and we are all human, then we need to teach how to be responsible. I also think the “sweeping under the rug” of problems solves nothing. It is pure denial and denial isn’t a way to deal with a problem it is only a coping mechanism that serves to comfort the mind of those who don’t know how to control the actions of others.
We need to teach our children responsibility. Teach them to think. Denial only turns a blind eye.
I think that society as a whole has several contributing factors to that statistic. Also, I am not sure if 1,000 is a large enough sample.
Not surprised.
I wish you hadn’t said “smell”.
It sure helped the smart ones who followed it.
