I’m getting a new windows running gaming computer soon, and I’m a mac user, so I don’t really get viruses. I’m going to be using Steam on the computer for my games and mainly reddit, youtube and Facebook on the internet. How can I prevent my expensive new computer from getting flooded with viruses?

Run as a regular non-privileged user, not an administrator online.
Keep the OS up-to-date
Keep all the Adobe software upt-to-date (Flash plugin, PDF reader etc.)
Keep your browser up-to-date.
Do not fall for stupid scams (open the attachment to see naked pics)
And of course you can run an antivirus program which will catch most of the old ones.
Always update Java, it’s exploited weekly. Like homeboy above me said, keep your OS and all Adobe programs up to date. Don’t install additional add-ons when installing software (uncheck those boxes…they are tricky) I recommend Avast! or Microsoft Security Essentials for your anti-virus.
